Iphones have been one of the most famous technological additions of this year. So, it was expected that consumers would pose huge demand for them. However, this happened in London where their demand proved to be far more than the supply. The reporters of the website V3.co.uk talked to some retailers on Oxford Street located in Central London to find out about the level of sales. These retailers were Orange, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U http://www.phones4u.co.uk , Vodafone and O2.

Carphone Warehouse told this website that all its 75 units had been sold by 3 PM. It was going to make sales after receiving deliveries of the booked mobile phones on Monday.

The sales representative of this store further stated that it was not going to initiate the sales of this phone on a pay as you go mode for a minimum time of two months. Phones4U also reported similar success with the sales of the phone. It had also sold 40% of the stock allocated to it by the company.

Vodafone and Orange were also able to sell the number of units booked by them. But, they did not tell anything about their receipt of the fresh stock of this phone. Now, the only store to have this phone available with it was O2. But, its supply was also going to be lapped by the number of customers lining outside the store. Out of these customers, one said that he had been waiting for the phone for almost 1 and a half hour, but had not been able to go inside as yet. However he had been given an assurance by the staff that he would procure his own device. O2 website also has a facility of stock locator for its customers, so that they can know which one of its branches has a version of this phone.

T-Mobile has not started the sales of this phone. It will start supplying this phone in July. However, no official declaration has yet been done about this supply.

All these stores had no white models of this phone. Apple has told that white models of Iphone 4 will be supplied around the end of this month. However, this is quite frustrating for the users of these phones who are eagerly waiting for this model. According to Apple, the reason for the delayed delivery has been the problems in manufacturing of this device. These problems were not expected.

V3.co.uk requested Apple to provide more details on this delayed, supply, but it commented that it had no further information. Apple has been trying to tone down the paucity in supply of the white model of Iphone 4, saying that the availability of more used Iphone 4 black version has been the same.
